Pahlmeyer


In 1980 Jayson Pahlmeyer populated his first Napa Valley vineyard with grape clones from the Bordeaux. A trial attorney by occupation Pahlmeyer found himself more and more interested in winemaking. After several trips to France he went to work on a life long dream. The goal was to produce a world class Californian Bordeaux blend. Pahlmeyer released his first vintage in 1986.

2002
Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red


This wine has a plum tone and a deep nose. Aromas of black fruit dominate the bouquet and develop on the palate. The flavors are full dark berries, violet, mineral and game that fill the mouth with a dense texture and sweet tannins.

2000
Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red


The bottle is dark and moody in tone and complex on the nose. Aromas of crème de cassis fill the bouquet with ripe black cherry, smoky spice and blueberry. On the palate a rich brown sugar, caramel and cream vanilla flavor fills the mouth. A long finish with lingering hints of spice, tobacco and violet complete this wine.

1999

This wine is vibrant in appearance with a languidly ascending nose. Black raspberry, blueberry, plum and licorice are complemented by mocha, leather and tar. An inviting mouth of sweet sharp flavors defines this wine with black fruits, minerals and roast coffee sliding onto the palate.

1998
Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red


This bottle explodes upon opening with a distinctive lush plum tone and a full body of sweet fruit. On the nose blackberry and crème de cassis are layered with meaty notes. On the palate these aromas deepen and fill the mouth.

2003
Pahlmeyer Chardonnay


This bottle is a warm sweet refreshment rich with aroma and flavor. The nose is reminiscent of honey and pastry with a lemon butter and orange marmalade hint. The body is full and richly textured and leaves the palate drenched with fruit flavor. This wine is completed with a long mineral finish.

2001
Pahlmeyer Chardonnay


The bottle opens up to a warm golden tone and an expressive nose of orange blossom, citrus and caramel. This is a rich full-bodied wine that slides onto the palate delivering on the promises of the aromatics. Sweet fresh orange and citrus flavors dominate the mouth and leave a lasting impression on the finish.

This bottle has a complex nose of fresh and dried fruit. Aromas of pineapple and lemon greet the nose with dried fruits, nut and herb notes to complement. Slight floral hints and a touch of oak deepen and develop. Sweet fresh fruit dominate the palate with tropical flavors and a ripe rich texture. This bottle is finished with a long dry impression.

2002
Pahlmeyer Merlot


This is a powerful; layered wine with a translucent purple tone and a rich bouquet. Black fruit aromas meld with chocolate, cocoa and smoke to open up this bottle. Sweet fruit flavors dance across the palate leaving a long heavy finish.

2001
Pahlmeyer Merlot


This wine is full and rich with an open bouquet of fresh fruit. On the palate the flavors are broad and expressive, red currant, chocolate and earth dominate the senses with a spicy, chewy texture to complete the taste. This wine has supple dense tannins and a long finish.

2000
Pahlmeyer Merlot


This year’s vintage is huge in flavor and masterfully balanced. The color is warm and dark plum and the bouquet is smoky and spicy with dark fruit aromas. On the mouth the wine is round and concentrated with rich black cherry and hints of oak.
