Rieussec

Chateau Rieussec

The Chateau Rieussec has a long proud winemaking history that spans back beyond the French revolution. The Chateau has earned its reputation for classic Bordeaux wines through its consistent production of world-class vintages. In 1971 after changing hands numerous times during the revolution the vineyards were purchased by Albert Vuiller. The new owner couldn’t turn his harvests into profit and his interests were further stunted when his land was decimated by hail in 1977. In 1984 a substantial investment from Domaines Rothschilds boosted the vineyards potential. With the new captial Rieussec wines were able to develop further and the label found renewed success.
